As Joan Vassos is on a journey to find love again, she has said that she wants “somebody with a big heart” and “somebody who is generous.”
She had previously participated in Golden Bachelor to win Gerry Turner’s heart but she voluntarily exited the show to care for her daughter.
She has now become the first Golden Bachelorette who will be giving love a second chance through the reality show.
Previously, she posted a lengthy tribute to her late husband John Vassos on Instagram on January 18, 2024, by sharing a family picture with her late husband and their kids.
Vassos said that there is a ‘hole’ in her life that can never be filled. Well, we have to wait a little longer to see whether there is someone who can make this feeling go away for Vassos or not.
However, her family has already suggested to her a number of things to look for in a man.
Vassos was having a family meal before she embarked on her Goldden Bachelorette journey when her daughter asked how she feels about kissing another guy on TV.
Since Vassos had already appeared in Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor, she knows how it feels to kiss a man on a show.

She replied to her daughter that she needs to get used to that because she does not want to be with somebody that she doesn’t like to kiss. Vassos added that she will probably kiss a fair number of guys on camera.
Vassos later asks her family about the topic she should be asking the suitors on the show to which Nick suggests asking about men’s top three priorities.
Her mother-in-law Elaine then added that they should like to travel. Similarly, her grandson Boomer said that she should ask the men about their favorite dinosaur.
Vassos’ kids are equally concerned about their mom finding the perfect match for her so Alison asked her mom about the qualities that she seeks in her partner.
The school administrator Vassos said that she is very picky about a man being a gentleman. She wants someone with a big heart, generous and humble.

Joan Vassos’ Late Husband John Vassos
Vassos was married to her late husband John for 32 years. Her first husband passed away due to pancreatic cancer on January 18, 2023.
Joan Vassos’ former husband John was born on November 27, 1961, to Elaine and Nicholas Vassos. He attended Salisbury University and owned and operated BCE Corporation and CapX Solutions.
Joan and her husband became parents to four children during the course of their marriage. Their children’s names are Allison, Nicholas (Nick), Erica, and Luke.
Nick currently works at an insurance company as a senior manager of business systems.
Erica is a third-grade teacher while Allison is a business owner (she owns Ittybitty Boutiques in Potomac, Maryland).
Likewise, Luke is a corporate account executive at a software development company.
