Netflix confirmed Yerin Ha as the newest member of the Bridgerton season 4 on September 11, 2024.
She will be playing Sophie, the match for Benedict Bridgerton, played by Luke Thompson. The fourth season of the Netflix show is based on the third Bridgerton book, An Offer From a Gentleman.
The character in the book is Sophie Beckett but Yerin will be appearing as Sophie Baek to reflect her heritage.
Yerin has Asian ethnicity being born to Korean parents. She has now made a name for herself in the entertainment industry as a Korean-Australian actress.

Yerin attended Kaywon High School of Arts in Seoul and trained there for three years.
She later attended Sydney’s National Institute of Dramatic Art and graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in acting, majoring in Musical Theatre in 2018.
Yerin has been following the acting advice from her grandmother which is to be brave, be courageous, and stand up for what she believes in. Her grandmom has also advised her not to be afraid to look ugly.
Yerin’s grandmother is Korean actress Son Sook who is also a former politician. Sook is known for her roles in Mother (1999), Guest (1979), and Volcano (1975).
Her grandparents also met in the drama club at university and eventually got married. Son Sook was married to Kim Sung-ok from 1965 to December 2022, until Kim Sung-ok’s demise.
Sook and her husband Kim have three daughters and one of them is Yerin’s mom.

Yerin talked about Asian representation on-screen with Australian Vogue in 2019 saying that she hoped there would be a time where we can see people of multiple backgrounds playing the girlfriend, the romantic lead.
Five years later, Yerin will be seen as the love interest of Benedict Bridgerton in the upcoming season of Bridgerton.

Yerin has been active in her professional career for five years now although she was introduced to acting when she was very young.
She was seen as Technie Jane in Reef Break in 2019. Later, in 2022, Yerin was seen as Ah Rah in Troppo. She also played the role of Tracey in Sissy in 2022.
In the year 2023, Yerin was seen in four episodes of Bad Behaviour as Alice. She is best known for appearing as Kwan Ha in Halo from 2022 to 2024.
As we know by now Yerin will be seen as Sophie Baek in Bridgerton season 4. She will also be seen in Dune: Prophecy as Young Kasha.
Similarly, Yerin will be seen in The Survivors as Mia in 2025.
