The former WLJA anchor Alison Starling wears many hats but she is first and foremost a mom and a wife.
Alison has made a name for herself as an evening anchor and reporter at WJLA TV for more than twenty years.
She decided to step away from the anchor desk in 2023 but her fame as a 7News journalist has helped her grab people’s attention even today.
Alison is now a host and co-creator of a podcast “Leaving Well with Alison Starling.” She has also been giving media coaching since December 2023.

Who Is Alison Starling’s Husband Peter?
Alison Starling’s husband Peter Alexander is one of the well-known faces of NBC News. He is known as the Chief White House Correspondent and co-anchor of Weekend Today.
Peter has been working with NBC News for more than 20 years. While Peter was working at NBC, his wife worked at WJLA-TV from August 2003 to November 2023.
Peter started his career as a Reporter for WKYT-TB in January 1997. Later in October 1998, he joined KHQ-TV as an anchor. Peter worked as an anchor and reporter at KCPQ-TV for more than three years from March 2001 to May 2004.
He joined NBC News as a correspondent in June 2004 and has been associated with the network since then.
Peter is 48 years old being born on July 29, 1976. He attended Northwestern University and earned his Bachelor’s degree in Journalism.
Alison Starling and Peter Alexander’s Married Life
Alison and Peter were friends before they fell in love. The duo met while working as reporters in Seattle in 2002.
The couple reconnected eight years later, in 2010, which became the beginning of their love story. Alison and Peter eventually began dating, and not long after they were in a relationship, Peter decided to propose to Alison during their trip to Paris, France.
The couple got engaged underneath the Eiffel Tower in 2011 and got married a year later at the Newseum in Washington, DC, on April 21, 2012.

Alison and Peter have now been married for 12 years and are both vocal about their married life.
While Alison has made her Instagram account private, her husband Peter is often seen sharing pictures with her.
Peter never misses any chance to express his love for his wife. He shared a beautiful picture of Alison with her birthday cake on October 2022 and wished her saying she is incredibly loved and no one loves her more than Ava, Emma, and him.

Alison Starling Has Children
Ava and Emma are Alison’s two children with her husband Peter. Ava is their eldest daughter born in July 2013.
In July 2024, Peter shared some pictures of Ava with her sister Emma and wished her on her 11th birthday.
Earlier this year in June, the proud dad Peter also shared a family picture announcing that Ava has graduated. He congratulated Ava on her 5th-grade promotion and stated how proud they are of her achievement.
Similarly, Emma was born in June 2015, which will make her age 10 in 2025.
Both Ava and Emma are often seen on their dad’s Instagram posts. He has also talked about his fatherhood journey and what it is like to have a strong girl vibe in his house in his interviews.
Peter told TODAY.com that he used to dream about being surrounded by women and having two daughters in the family has been a blessing to both Peter and his wife.
He also added that juggling work and fatherhood has given him a much greater appreciation for all working parents.
His daughters Ava and Emma also joined him to celebrate his new job as Weekend TODAY co-anchor in 2018.
